Floyd Mayweather is returning to boxing after a year out of the ring, announcing he is to fight Victor Ortiz.
The five-time world champion's last bout was against Shane Mosley in May 2010 as he won a unanimous decision in Las Vegas.
Mayweather, 34, has won all 41 of his professional fights and is a six-time world champion at five different weights.
Ortiz became the current World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight champion after beating Andre Berto in April and the bout has been set for September 17.
Mayweather has recorded 25 knockouts in his 41 bouts, while Ortiz has suffered two defeats and two draws in his 33 fights.
Mayweather's return to the ring will again raise the prospect of a so-called "superbout" with eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao.

Unbeaten US boxing star Floyd Mayweather said on Tuesday he would end a 16-month layoff on September 17 to fight countryman Victor Ortiz for the World Boxing Council welterweight title.
Floyd Mayweather vs Victor Ortiz. Sept-17 2011 for the WBC World Championship," Mayweather tweeted.
Fight fans have waited for years to see Mayweather face Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao, but talks have failed and the fighters have battled other foes instead.
Pacquiao defeated Mosley last month in Las Vegas, which was likely where Mayweather's September fight would be staged.
Mayweather's evidence hearing on felony domestic violence charges is set for July 29. Mayweather also faces a September 1 trial date on a misdemeanour battery charge for allegedly poking a 21-year-old homeowners' association security guard in the face during a scuffle last November over parking tickets.
